1. Definitions

Customer: Any individual or organization hiring a skip from us.

Skip: The container provided for waste disposal.

2. Booking and Hiring Process

2.1 Booking Requirements

To hire a skip, the customer must provide accurate information regarding the type and size of the skip required, the location for placement, and the intended duration of hire.

2.2 Confirmation

Upon receiving a booking request, we will confirm the availability and provide an estimated delivery date and hire cost. The hire is confirmed once payment has been received.

3. Payment Terms

All payments must be made in full prior to or upon the delivery of the skip. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers.

4. Hire Duration

The standard hire period is 7 days. If you require the skip for a longer period, please notify us in advance. Additional charges may apply for extended hire durations.

5. Placement and Accessibility

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the placement area is accessible for delivery and collection of the skip. This includes providing clear access routes and ensuring there are no obstacles.

5.1 Ground Conditions

The ground must be stable and capable of supporting the skip. If the ground is uneven or soft, protective measures such as plywood may be required.

6. Allowed and Prohibited Waste

Our skips are designed to handle specific types of waste. The customer must ensure that all waste placed in the skip complies with local regulations and our guidelines.

  • Asbestos-containing materials

Placing prohibited waste in the skip may result in fines and the immediate return of the skip at the customer's expense.

7. Responsibility and Liability

The customer is responsible for the safe use of the skip, including ensuring that it is not overloaded beyond its capacity.

We are not liable for any damage to property or injury to persons caused by the improper placement or use of the skip.

7.1 Insurance

Customers are advised to have adequate insurance coverage for any potential damages related to the skip placement and use.

8. Collection and Disposal

We will collect the skip on the agreed-upon date. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all waste has been properly loaded.

Waste will be disposed of in accordance with environmental and legal standards. We may refuse to collect waste that does not comply with our terms.

9. Cancellation and Refunds

Bookings can be canceled up to 48 hours before the scheduled delivery without penalty. Cancellations made within 48 hours may incur a fee.

Refunds for cancellations are subject to the terms agreed upon at the time of booking.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any significant changes.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Skip Hire Sydenham operates.
